Residential Gatherings
Participants in Imagine the Impact will gather together for three separate residential gatherings. They are explained below.
Residential #1- The first residential gathering will take place from June 29th to July 5th. Registration begins at 1:30PM and ends at 2:30PM. Students will get the chance to be stretched in their faith and the tools they have to make an impact for God through their lives by new relationships, interacting with dynamic youth trainers, and experiential learning opportunities. Students will cover topics such as Defining Leadership, Visioneering, Strategic Planning, Exploring the Christian Life, and Personal Evangelism. Options at Refreshing Mountain Camp will be used to teach the material. Students will also engage in learning through simulated experiences. One example will be our own version of “The Apprentice”. A trip to Washington DC to visit the Center for Student Missions, the Holocaust Museum and several other DC sites that can generate growth and learning will also be part of the experience. Every student will leave the first residential gathering with a personal growth plan and the beginning steps of a personal project idea that will be carried out in the home setting over the next twelve months.
Residential #2- The second residential gathering will take place on a weekend in early January. Topics for these days together will include Communication and Conflict Utilization, Team-Building teaching and exercises, God and the Bible, and corporate evangelism. Students will have a chance to reconnect with each other. They will also provide updates in small groups on their personal growth plan and their personal projects.
Residential #3- The third residential gathering will occur the following summer on a weekend, dates to be announced by January 2008. The group will have a training time to debrief the Imagine the Impact experience. The major focus will be providing an opportunity for students to provide an oral presentation regarding their personal ministry project.
